DaOne Owens, Quarterback, Slippery Rock
DaOne Owens continues to shine for Slippery Rock in his first year of college ball. Saturday’s game was a showdown with #8 California University of Pennsylvania; it ended in a 42-35 loss for the Rock. Owens went 17-29 in the air, passing for 252 yards and tossing 4 touchdown passes. He also rushed for a score. These 5 touchdown break his previous career high (4), set last week versus Shippensburg. The Rock trailed the Vulcans by 21 at one point, but Owens rallied them all the way back to take the lead– a lead that they unfortunately could not hang on to.
