Massillon Alumni Highlights– October 20-26

Massillon alum Nolan Hendricks was named Wooster’s special teams player of the week for week 7.

NCAA D1

Magnus Haines, Punter, Ohio

Magnus Haines had a pair of punts versus Eastern Michigan. On only 2 kicks, Haines totaled 117 yards (58.5 average). One of his kicks was 49 yards, and the second traveled an incredible 68 yards and was downed inside the EMU 2-yard line. The kick was a career-long for Haines, surpassing his previous record of 64. Haines’ average of 44.6 yards per kick is just .4 yards below Ohio’s best single-season punt yard average over the last 25 seasons.

Adonis Marshall, Defensive Back, Mercyhurst

Adonis Marshall recorded 4 tackles versus Stonehill on Saturday. He also picked off a pass near the goal line to keep the game within reach for the Lakers. The pick is his second of the season.

Willtrell Hartson, Runnning Back, Ashland

Willtrell Hartson rushed for a season-best 86 yards on 19 carries versus Tiffin. He rushed for 1 touchdown; he also had a pair of receptions for 14 yards.

Nolan Hendricks, Kicker/Punter, Wooster

Nolan Hendricks was named special teams player of the week for Week 7’s performance– he had another excellent game this past weekend. He had 10 punts for 365 yards (36.5 per punt) with a long of 48. He kicked off twice and made 1 extra point on the Scots’ lone score. He also made a tackle after one of his punts.

Christian Kring, Linebacker, Wooster

Christian Kring had a season-best day with 10 tackles (2nd on the team) and 1 tackle-for-loss (team-leading).

NCAA D3 (Basketball)

Chris Knight, Shooting Guard, Mount Union

College basketball season is almost here, and one Tiger is ready to roll in his freshman season. Chris Knight scored 11 points against Grove City College in Mount Union’s first scrimmage of the season. Knight hit the first shot that he took– a three pointer. He also picked up 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 deflection in 10 minutes on the court. Shot wise Knight was 3-5 from 3 and 1-1 from 2.
