Defensive Spotlight
Deontay Malone, Cornerback

Deontay Malone played lockdown defense at corner. He continually proves that he is one of the best athletes in the state– on defense he recorded 7 tackles, broke up a pass, and intercepted a deep ball. The runbacks that Malone has are always fun to watch– he made players miss and broke tackles all over the field on his 43-yard interception return. Malone also led the Tigers in receiving on the offensive end with 18 yards on 2 catches. Special teams have been special for Malone this year, especially over the last few weeks. On Friday, Malone took a kick return 97 yards to the house, once again showing that he is a triple threat unlike any other.
