First Half

Massillon’s Hunter Swann swooped in on the game’s first play to take down Glenville’s running back in the backfield. The Tarblooders found the edge on the next play, however; a screen pass went for a long score. The 2-point conversion was broken up in the end zone. On the Tigers’ end, running back Graham Oaklief picked up a first down but the Tigers were forced to punt. Glenville quickly added another score on a long run and successfully converted the 2-point try to make the score 14-0. Oaklief was able to drive the Tigers into Tarblooder territory during the next possession, but a 4th-down pass from Massillon quarterback Coleton Adams was broken up, resulting in a turnover on downs. Glenville picked up one 4th-down conversion on their drive but were unable to convert a second time and gave the ball back to Massillon. The Tigers punted to open the 2nd quarter. The Tarblooders found the edge once again and took the kick back for a touchdown. The 2-point conversion made the score 22-0. Oaklief once again led the Tigers to a couple of first downs, this time playing as wildcat quarterback. Massillon’s drive was stifled after they continually struggled with blocking on run plays. The special teams stepped in to help– punter Hunter Swann kept the drive alive for the Tigers as he found the sideline and a first down on a fake punt. The Tigers later turned the ball over on downs. Glenville scored on a long pass to make the score 28-0; a sack by Blake Hawk stopped the 2-point conversion. The Tigers punted and Glenville added another score to make it 34-0 at the half.

Second Half

The 3rd quarter started with a running clock. Massillon punted and Glenville’s quarterback dodged tackles to add yet another score; the 2-point attempt was good. A Massillon pass was intercepted, leading to another Glenville score (despite a chasedown tackle by Adrian Pascley on the previous play). Damian Rivera sacked the Tarblooders’ quarterback to stop the 2-point try and keep the score at 48-0. On the Tigers’ final long drive of the game, Rylan Miles ran Massillon down the field and into the red zone, but another turnover on downs followed. Massillon got the ball back after a fumble recovery from Rohan Shook. A last-second touchdown run by Bodie Hutchinson was called back on a hold, and the score stood– Tigers 0 – Tarblooders 48.
