Offensive Spotlight

Anthony McMullen Jr., Running Back

The Tigers have a three-headed monster at running back. When one sits, another comes in to pound the defense and put the ball in the end zone. This week running back Anthony McMullen Jr. had a season-best game. He rushed for a game-best 130 yards and scored a touchdown. McMullen’s hard-hitting style of runs often gained him extra yardage versus the Warriors of Cornerstone Christian as he crashed through tackles. McMullen also broke off a few long runs– a 45-yarder was his long on the day.

Christian Culler, Running Back

Christian Culler also had a season-best night at running back. He punched the ball in twice for touchdowns and picked up 102 yards on 11 carries (9.3 yards per carry). Defenses had better look out if Culler finds the sideline– his speed and tough running carried him for big gains on several runs on the edge line. A long of 34 (as well as runs of 12, 12, 11 [TD], 16 and 10 yards) highlighted his night.

Defensive Spotlight

Ja’Dyn Williams, Linebacker

It seems that every week Ja’Dyn Williams is making the big play of the game. The feared linebacker’s highlight play this week came on 4th down– Williams flew around his blocker to sack the Warrior’s quarterback and give the ball to the Tigers. Williams totaled a team-leading 11 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 tackles-for-loss in Massillon’s 45-20 victory.

Isaac Maxheimer, Linebacker

Isaac Maxheimer has found his spot at linebacker and also has found his way into the player spotlight for a third consecutive week. He once again recorded 9 tackles, helping the Tiger defense clean up the heavy screen game that the Warriors threw at them. Maxheimer also picked up a sack and a tackle-for-loss.

Noah Jenkins, Safety

Noah Jenkins has been playing an increasing role at safety for Massillon. He had a season-best 9 tackles on Friday. Jenkins was tasked with the difficult job of getting after receivers who were constantly making plays out of the backfield and near the line of scrimmage.  He did an admirable job from his safety position in making sure that the plays were handled if the ball carriers got through the front 7 and came his way.
